New Mass Relations for Heavy Quarkonia
نویسندگان
چکیده
By assuming the existence of (quasi)-linear Regge trajectories for heavy quarkonia in the low energy region, we derive a new, sixth power, meson mass relation which shows good agreement with experiment for both charmed and beauty mesons. This relation may be reduced to a quadratic Gell-Mann–Okubo E-mail: [email protected] E-mail: [email protected] E-mail: [email protected]. On the mass relation of a meson nonet
It is pointed out that the omission of the effects of the transition between quarkonia or the assumption that the transition between quarkonia is flavor-independent would result in the inconsistent results for the pseudoscalar meson nonet. It is emphasized that the mass relation of the non-ideal mixing meson nonets should incorporate the effects of the flavor-dependent transition between quarko...
متن کاملSpectra of Quarkonia at Finite Temperature
Finite-temperature spectra of heavy quarkonia are calculated by combining potential model and thermofield dynamics formalisms. The mass spectra of the heavy quarkonia with various quark contents are calculated. It is found that binding mass of the quarkonium decreases as temperature increases.a Quarkonia; finite-temperature spectra; thernofield dynamics.
متن کاملCovariant and heavy quark symmetric quark models.
There exist relativistic quark models (potential or MIT-bag) which satisfy the heavy quark symmetry (HQS) relations among meson decay constants and form factors. Covariant construction of the momentum eigenstates, developed here, can correct for spurious center-of-mass motion contributions. Proton form factor and M1 transitions in quarkonia are calculated. Explicit expression for the Isgur-Wise...
متن کاملQuarkonia and heavy flavors at the LHC
Perspectives for measurements of quarkonia and heavy flavors in heavy ion collisions at the LHC are reviewed. 1 Quarkonia and heavy flavors: what is different at the LHC With a nucleus-nucleus center-of-mass energy nearly 30 times larger than the one reached at RHIC, the LHC will open a new era for studying the properties of strongly interacting matter at extreme energy densities [1]. One of th...
متن کامل6 v 1 2 4 M ar 1 99 8 Spin effects in heavy quarkonia
A model based on a nonrelativistic potential supplemented by spin dependent terms of the Breit-Fermi type is described. This model reproduces the known masses of the bb quarkonia within 1MeV and the known masses of the cc quarkonia within 5MeV. Many predictions are made, some of them, e.g. for the fine splittings of the high L states of the bb quarkonia and of the mass spectrum of the bc quarko...
